Heritage Tourism and Conservation, a new duo

It looks like that the equation between wooing tourism and redeeming conservation of heritage assets is taking a new turn. As reported in TOI, conservation specialists related to art, culture and tourism have been showcasing the work done by them at various sites in a presentation to chief minister Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan, while also recommending conservation and tourism promotion initiatives for various historical and heritage sites in 452381247 (1)the state.

This exercise entailed detailed presentations on conserving important heritage sites and developing tourism circuits in all four districts of Bharatpur-Dholpur, Karauli, Bharatpur and Sawai Madhopur.

As also mentioned, conservation specialists from Aga Khan Trust, Ritish Nanda (project director) and conservation architect Abha Narayan Lamba shared their experiences.

This week itself in another news report, one could spot how buffer villages in Melghat Tiger Reserve (MTR) have decided to increase revenue through conservation works, like tourism development through wildlife conservation under eco-development programme.
